Led by Elders of Syilx Nation and in collaboration with Interior Health Authority, a research team, and community service providers, MEMOTEXT is developing an app based on the SmartParent program developed by a UBC team of experts in maternal and child health led by Drs. Wendy Hall and Patricia Janssen, with the support of an advisory committee representing health authorities in British Columbia. 

The Syilx app will provide evidence-based information in an off-line format to remain accessible to parents without reliable Internet or cellular access. It will promote Syilx parents’ knowledge, confidence, and competence to support optimal developmental outcomes for their infants.
